Power Distribution Units (PDU's)
Today’s computer centres are becoming more dependent on the integrity of the power supplying them. Most large commercial concerns are highly reliant on their data centres and the PDU (Power Distribution Unit) plays an important integral part in providing them with secure power.
More than a simple distribution board, the PDU is designed to suit the environment of a computer centre both aesthetically and technically and takes on many forms, sometimes integrating static switches, isolating transformers and sophisticated power monitoring and communication equipment.
Commonly PDU’s are designed to accommodate bottom cable entry through a floor void with connection to a terminal rail located in a segregated marshalling compartment. Alternatively all outgoing connections may be via industrial style plugs and sockets.
